Mistake # 1. Do not summarize. Trying to include too much.

One of the most common mistakes by the customer is wanting to put all enterprise information in the brochure. It is our duty as designers lay out the content and offer the customer the best ways to publicize your product or service with a simple to read text and summarized in words.

Surely if anything there are exceptions, but you should always try to reduce long paragraphs, bulleted lists by replacing the main points or other resources.

Mistake # 2. Abuse of fonts.

The typography, beyond words, communicate. Using too topographies will accomplish all that chaos in the message.

Sometimes the design requires a shift in power to distinguish a title or outstanding, but the most recommended, if necessary, are two types of sources.

In my case I prefer to work with families of sources where we can find different bodies, italics, etc..

As we recommended in the original article, any doubt it is always advisable to use san serif fonts like Arial classic or Helvetica, or if you need a more formal source, use serif fonts like Times or Palatino.

Mistake # 3. No long paragraphs with headlines cut.

At this point become a little about the Mistake No. 1, but it is worth stressed upon it. If the client would like to send a letter to your prospective customers may not hire us. Therefore, avoid long paragraphs with a good layout based content owners is crucial to catch the grip who read the brochure.

Let’s go out for a minute of our role as designers and ubiquémonos the role of the person receiving the brochure. If we are given a booklet with pure text is as safe or not we throw it we get to read half of it. Very different is when we find headlines or highlights that capture the immediate attention and invite you to read the rest of the message.

Mistake # 4. Fill in each blank.

This may already have read it and heard ad nauseum. But it is a great truth. We hold that need to complete the whole space we have left like an album of figurines.

To understand the need for blanks is convenient compared to the green spaces in cities. These are needed to breathe fresh air. The same happens in a booklet, one finds that ‘air’ in the design using a blank or generous margins.

Mistake # 5. Use of many colors.

Colors are combined does not mean you have to use them all. I say this because many times one can find inspiration in terms of color scheme or similar sites like ColourLovers.com pallets and find very beautiful 6-color recommended. Not that we should use 6 colors in the text! We should try to reduce the chaos …

Keep the color for the headlines, another for subtitles, and one for the message body will maintain a visual order.

We can also take the logo colors evenly to communicate the message.

Mistake # 6. Using images in low quality.

The image resolution for print is a very important point and can not be neglected. Today with digital photography is very easy to get pictures, but even if that customer does not give resources to hire a professional photographer.

In addition, the facility granted by the banks of images is another good start for professional images at low cost.
